      http://www.sa.gov.au/topics/driving-and-transport/drivers-and-licences/driving-with-an-overseas-licence

      It said  "a current licence issued in another country that is written in English"
      Hong Kong driving licence is written in Chinese and English.
      You just need to hold the Hong Kong driving license to drive in SA.
      But depends what Visa you holding.
      If you are international student that is fine.
