A Food Distribution company at Regency Park looking for an organized and detailed-orientated Warehouse 2IC to join our team and assist with the daily functions of the warehouse. This professional multitasker will work closely with the Warehouse Manager in term of receiving, handling, storing, picking, and packing activities of a wide variety of products within the warehouse. This position required at least 2 years of experience in a warehouse including in a supervisory role.

Position purpose

To provide an excellent service in the packing, loading, driving and delivery of products to customers throughout the metropolitan and near country area in a timely and accurate manner

Main tasks.

• Assist the Warehouse Manager with the receiving, warehousing and distribution operations
• Assist the Warehouse Manager with the scheduling and overseeing of the warehouse team to meet demands and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime
• Assist the Customer Service and Sales teams to resolve order issues
• Assis staff with queries on all stock lines
• Supervise and assist when required, all container unloading
• Effective, timely and accurate distribution of goods in and out of the warehouse, including loading of trucks
• Ensure effective communication and delivery standards are consistently maintained
• Ensure all inventory requirements are accurately processed on time
• Ensure all OHS protocols are maintained, including inspections and procedures
• Maintain standards of health and safety
• Assist in staff training and development
• Any other requirements as requested by the Warehouse Manager or related staff
• Identify any areas that require maintenance and notify the Warehouse manager.
• Ensure forklifts and other machinery is charged and in good working order.
• Ensure all parts of the warehouse and surrounding areas clean.
  

Required qualities

• Proficient understanding of warehouse procedures
• Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
• Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Ability to work with all levels of company staff
• Ability to operate a forklift effectively – Current forklift license
• Proficient computer skills
• Highly organized and possess great time management skills
• Have a proactive and hands-on approach
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Enthusiasm and willingness to learn with a “can do” attitude
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
• Available to work extended hours
  

Other

· Current and clean driving licence (essential]

· Current MR licence for driving trucks (desirable)

· Current Forklift licence (desirable)
